Whoever you are, if you’re passionate about your work, curious, relentless and customer-obsessed, you have a place at Dojo.

We want everyone to be the best they can be throughout the recruitment process; if you require any additional adjustments please let us know.

We're looking for an Analytics Engineer to join us on a 12-month FTC within our Analytics Engineer chapter, as part of the wider Data function at Dojo. The role will sit specifically within our Payments Products tribe, whose goal is to revolutionise the payments landscape.

About The Tribe

Mission: Deliver the ultimate unified payments ecosystem that enables our customers to take and understand all forms of payments.

In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping our data landscape. You'll be contributing to designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing data gathered from various sources, including operational systems, transactions, products, and user behaviour data.

As you engage in close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders spanning all disciplines within the tribe – from Front & Back-end Engineers to Designers and Product Managers – your primary focus will be to establish a robust framework that enhances our insights, reporting, and decision-making processes, ultimately driving cross-functional value across the entire tribe.

If you're driven by data and fuelled by curiosity, come be a vital part of our dedicated team that's redefining the future of financial technology.

What a typical day looks like:

  • You’ll work as part of a cross-functional product team, partnering with PMs and engineers to develop data products that inform the prioritization and planning of the product strategy.

  • Contribute to the development of products built by the other data folks both within the tribe and in the wider Analytics Engineering community. Sharing best practices via design sessions and demos.

  • Be hands-on to support the data needs of the tribe using dbt, looker, and other tools to deliver scalable data products.

  • Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver projects, refine KPIs, and upskill on self-service solutions.

  • Collaborate with representatives of other departments such as Sales, Ops, Commercial, Marketing, and of course, other tribes.

  • As you acquire an in-depth understanding of one or more areas of the business, you’ll act as an expert mentor improving data literacy within your product team and across the tribe. You’ll be improving performance outcomes through the use of data and technology. You’ll be raising the bar.

What you’ll bring:

  • You’re an expert in SQL and data modeling.

  • You can break down and explain complex processes, requirements, and data pipelines to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • You know how to shape requirements, work productively, communicate with your stakeholders, and organize resources.

  • You can understand and manipulate large datasets, combining data from multiple sources to obtain the required results.

  • You can use data visualization tools to convey insights and drive actionable decisions.

  • You can communicate effectively within a team and with non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements.

  • You have a keen eye for detail and have high standards in your work.

  • You can work effectively in an agile and fast-growth environment.

Ideally, you will also have experience with:

  • Looker platform administration.

  • MPPs, especially BigQuery and Snowflake.

  • dbt for transformation.

  • Cloud services and infrastructure, especially Google Cloud Platform.

  • A scripting language e.g. Python.

  • You’re comfortable working in an agile environment.

About Dojo

We launched Dojo in 2019 to address business owners’ pain points across the UK. Since then, we’ve seen incredible growth as a scaling fintech, welcoming over 150,000 customers and growing the Dojo team to 1,000+ people across five locations. In that time, we’ve also introduced Dojo Virtual Queues & Bookings and the Dojo restaurant finder app, formerly known as WalkUp and loved by 1,000 restaurants and 750,000 diners.

Today, we work towards our mission to empower businesses to thrive in the Experience Economy by creating the tools and technology that turn transactions into meaningful relationships. For our business customers, that means fast funding, the fastest payments, smart integrations, and efficient virtual queues & bookings - all with instant insight across the board. For diners, that means getting seated at their favourite restaurants with just a couple of taps on the Dojo app. Whether it’s for busy business owners or hungry diners, every Dojo product is built to address real customer pain points by our dedicated teams in London, Bristol, Hull and Belfast.

Our values

At Dojo, we’re curious. We have an insatiable desire to learn and innovate. And we’re relentless. We persevere even when it’s easier not to. But, we’re nothing without our customers, who drive everything we do. From day one, Dojo was built on real customer pain points and every one of us is customer-obsessed.

Our way of working

Dojo has adopted a set of shared principles with the aim of increasing in-person collaboration and amplifying our ‘Customer First’ values. We encourage our employees to meet in-person over virtual meetings, and our communication is mostly asynchronous. Unlike most other businesses, we are intentionally avoiding a rules-based approach, and each team is empowered to make the arrangements that work best for their success. The answer to every scenario which tests these principles is: We trust you to use your judgement responsibly, in the best interest of our customers.
