We’re reinventing payments.
In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year.
But we’re just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

The Role

At Dojo, the Platform team builds the foundation that enables our engineering teams to move faster and innovate with confidence. We provide self-serve capabilities and scalable tools that empower teams to work autonomously, eliminate bottlenecks, and drive efficiency. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust observability solutions that provide deep insights into the health, performance, and behavior of our complex, distributed systems.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about building scalable, and efficient observability solutions. You will leverage your technical expertise to design, develop, and operate the observability platform that underpin Dojo's products. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who thrives on solving challenging problems, working with cutting-edge technologies, and making a significant impact on product stability and developer productivity. Your focus will be on technical execution, innovation, and collaborating effectively within the team and across the organisation.

What You Will Do

  • Design and Build Software & Tools: Collaborate on the architecture, development, and implementation of scalable and resilient monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting platforms for our production and non-production environments.

  • Cloud Native Development: Building software which are cloud native, i.e., building on top of Kubernetes and controller APIs.

  • Tooling & Infrastructure Management: Own and optimize our observability stack, which includes (but is not limited to) technologies like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, etc.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with fellow engineers within the team and across the organisation to understand needs, align platform capabilities, and maximise the impact of the tools you build.

  • Stay at the Cutting Edge: Explore, evaluate, and advocate for modern observability practices, cloud-native technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve developer experience.

What You Will Bring

  • Proven Hands-on Experience: Worked as an engineer in a Platform, or Software Engineering role

  • Technical Understanding: Good understanding on one of the observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, etc

  • Backend Development Skills: Solid experience building applications within a service-oriented architecture using languages like Golang or .Net.

  • Cloud platforms: Good understanding in one of AWS, Azure or GCP and cloud native architectures (e.g., Kubernetes, microservices)

  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical solutions clearly and collaborate effectively within the team.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for tackling complex challenges.

Dojo home and away

We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in-person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.

That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.

With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?

  • You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.
  • You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.
  • You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.
