We’re Dojo

Since launching Dojo in 2019 to address business owners’ pain points across the UK, we’ve seen incredible growth as a scaling fintech, welcoming over 60,000 new customers and growing the Dojo team to 900+ people across five locations. In that time, we’ve also introduced Dojo Virtual Queues & Bookings and the Dojo restaurant finder app, formerly known as WalkUp and loved by 600 restaurants and 600,000 diners across the UK. Today, we work towards our mission to empower businesses to thrive in the Experience Economy by creating the tools and technology that turn transactions into meaningful relationships. For our business customers, that means fast funding, the fastest payments, smart integrations, and efficient virtual queues & bookings - all with instant insight across the board. For over 600,000 diners across the UK, that means getting seated at their favourite restaurants in just a couple of taps on the Dojo app. Whether it’s for busy business owners or hungry diners, every Dojo product is built to address real customer pain points by our dedicated teams in London, Bristol, Hull and Belfast.

The Role

You’ll be joining the team responsible for the build, optimisation and continuous improvement of our Data Platform, enabling millions of people to transact billions of pounds as they grow their businesses.

Our Data Platform runs on a multi-cloud environment (AWS/GCP). Built on the Data Mesh concept, it's a mix of in-house services and open-source products running in Kubernetes and utilising cloud native technologies.

This role is specifically joining a small squad dedicated to building a new Reconciliation platform. We process thousands of files and millions of events, building Data Products every day by leveraging in-house tools, Kubernetes, Airflow, Apache Kafka, PubSub and other cloud-native data technologies. We’re big fans of the CNCF landscape.

What you’ll do…

  • Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to define and implement a new Kafka based reconciliation platform

  • Write data services in Python and/or Go

  • Design, own and implement Data Infrastructure by using Infra-as-Code

  • Implement and manage Confluent Cloud services

  • Manage the life cycle of GKE deployments using ArgoCd and Helm Charts

  • Lead and contribute to POCs on new technologies

  • Monitor the health of the Data Platform and its components by using our Observability stack (Grafana Cloud, Prometheus, AlertOps, PagerDuty etc)

T ech stack we use at the moment:

  • GCP, AWS, Confluent Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow, dbt, BigQuery, Looker, GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, ArgoCD, Helm Charts, Backstage, Tyk API Gateway, Grafana Cloud Platform, rclone and many more to come.

We're open about where and how you've applied your experience, but you will most likely come from a background working as a Platform Engineer or Software Engineer with a focus on managing Data infrastructure and its services.
