Description
We’re Dojo
Since launching Dojo in 2019 to address business owners’ pain points across the UK, we’ve seen incredible growth as a scaling fintech, welcoming over 60,000 new customers and growing the Dojo team to 900+ people across five locations. In that time, we’ve also introduced Dojo Virtual Queues & Bookings and the Dojo restaurant finder app, formerly known as WalkUp and loved by 600 restaurants and 600,000 diners across the UK. Find out more about the journey we’ve been on here .
Today, we work towards our mission to empower businesses to thrive in the Experience Economy by creating the tools and technology that turn transactions into meaningful relationships. For our business customers, that means fast funding, the fastest payments, smart integrations, and efficient virtual queues & bookings - all with instant insight across the board. For over 600,000 diners across the UK, that means getting seated at their favourite restaurants in just a couple of taps on the Dojo app. Whether it’s for busy business owners or hungry diners, every Dojo product is built to address real customer pain points by our dedicated teams in London, Bristol, Hull and Belfast.
The Role
We are looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to join our growing Internal Communications team. As we continue to scale as a business, you will play a fundamental role in ensuring the many exciting initiatives and updates going on around the business are surfaced in the right way, at the right time.
Our people are super important to us, so a passion for keeping employees informed and engaged in a way which motivates and inspires them is key. We’re a business that’s built on relationships, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with our senior leadership team, while always having an ear to the ground.
As we shift to a more asynchronous approach to communication, and prepare to expand internationally, you will have the opportunity to really shape and influence the tools, channels, and methods we use to communicate across the whole business, from those who join us on work experience, through to our exec team and founders.
At Dojo, we constantly iterate to be the best we can be for our customers. The same can be said for our people - so an ability to adapt, pivot, take ownership, and think outside the box is critical.
What you will do…
-
Lead the communication of business-wide initiatives - working with relevant stakeholders to understand the context, develop communication plans, build out supporting materials and implement accordingly.
-
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business and provide expert advice, guidance and support to help them understand how, where and when to communicate to drive the best results.
-
Own our key business-wide channels, including our intranet, TV screens, bi-weekly company sync, monthly newsletter, Brown Bags, while using your initiative to revisit, reshape and redesign these.
-
Work with the wider Internal Comms team to manage, support and coordinate ad hoc projects, communications, meetings and events, such as All Hands meetings, Leadership meetings, webinars, emails, intranet content, and other projects taking place across the business.
-
Continually audit and review internal content and documentation to ensure it remains relevant, and that our people have access to the key information they want and need.
-
Use data and feedback to identify gaps and areas for improvement from a communications perspective. Use these insights to develop and drive appropriate solutions, and constantly review, measure, and iterate.
What you will bring…
-
Customer Obsessed - a passion for people and a drive to make their time at work better.
-
Curiosity - a desire to understand what’s going on across the business, and confidence to challenge the status quo.
-
Relentlessness - solutions-focused and a proven ability to see a project through from ideation to completion.
-
Internal Communication experience and knowledge
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with a practical ‘hands on’ approach.
-
Comfort with ambiguity, and a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
-
Strong project management and organisational skills.
-
Comfortable and confident collaborating closely with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels.
-
Video creation capability would be a big tick!
