We’re Dojo

Since launching Dojo in 2019 to address business owners’ pain points across the UK, we’ve seen incredible growth as a scaling fintech, welcoming over 60,000 new customers and growing the Dojo team to 900+ people across five locations. In that time, we’ve also introduced Dojo Virtual Queues & Bookings and the Dojo restaurant finder app, formerly known as WalkUp and loved by 600 restaurants and 600,000 diners across the UK. Today, we work towards our mission to empower businesses to thrive in the Experience Economy by creating the tools and technology that turn transactions into meaningful relationships. For our business customers, that means fast funding, the fastest payments, smart integrations, and efficient virtual queues & bookings - all with instant insight across the board. For over 600,000 diners across the UK, that means getting seated at their favourite restaurants in just a couple of taps on the Dojo app. Whether it’s for busy business owners or hungry diners, every Dojo product is built to address real customer pain points by our dedicated teams in London, Bristol, Hull and Belfast.

The role

We started building Dojo with a mission to become the most trusted payments provider for small businesses. On our journey so far, we’ve achieved a perfect trustpilot rating, a top of market NPS score and we’re currently onboarding around 5000 businesses each month. It’s no wonder enterprise customers’ heads have been turned.

Over the last year we’ve seen an increased appetite for Dojo’s products and services from mid-market and enterprise customers. We’re looking for a high energy, proven, strategic Head of Sales to build on that success by defining and executing a strategy for enterprise across the UK and internationally.

This will involve building and leading a high performing team, working with our customer insights and commercial finance teams to identify opportunities to win business across market segments and working in close partnership with our international team on opportunities outside of the UK. This role comes at a pivotal time for Dojo as the acquisition of consumer app, Walkup now Dojo marks a shift towards a B2B2C model — allowing us to leverage the network effect of data to create something truly transformative for our customers.

Our new mission is to empower the experience economy by turning transactions into meaningful relationships — a mission that can only be achieved with enterprise businesses onboard.

What you will do...

  • Take full ownership for defining and implementing our mid market / enterprise sales strategy

  • Recruit, lead and develop a high performing team

  • Help drive our expansion internationally

  • Work closely with the wider commercial leadership team (e.g. partnerships, growth and Dojo Consumer) to identify opportunities to cross/upsell and build pipeline for the sales team to achieve revenue targets

  • Negotiate and close complex contracts

  • Regular reporting on progress and performance to Exec team

What you will bring...

  • A proven leader within strategic / mid market sales with extensive experience of winning large accounts in a B2B environment - ideally the payments industry

  • Strong leadership skills - an ability to build, motivate and inspire a high performing team

  • A Customer centric, consultative approach to sales with exceptional relationship building skills

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a very high level autonomy and accountability

  • Ability to thrive in a very fast paced, scale up environment and not be afraid to roll your sleeves up to make stuff happen
